It has been about two weeks since I first arrived at training camp. I can honestly tell you that it has been both incredibly difficult while also being so rewarding. I have had to stretch myself physically, mentally, and spiritually since being here. I have been sleeping in a tent the entire time, it has been raining for most of the camp, taking bucket showers, and just living without the comforts of home. But it has been a great experience. I have grown so much as a person, and will only continue to grow. I have learned to be grateful for all the luxuries I have been blessed with in life, because most people have not been able to live the life of the average American. It has been eye opening, and I have not even gotten to live in a different country yet. The community between my squad is amazing and I am so grateful for it. I have had so many laughs and fun times here, and I cannot wait to get to know them even more. God has been working here, and He has been working in my life. The leadership here is fantastic, they are caring, they have all done the World Race before, they are all selfless, and want what is best for everyone. These two weeks have not been easy, but I'm grateful for everything I have gotten to experience. Hard times are part of growing, and I just have to be excited to take them head on, and not let them discourage or defeat me. I am excited for what will come next, and am excited for the experiences and growth that await me in the next nine months.
